The azure blue St. Barbe pond offers a colourful interlude for a walk near the river. There is also a fishing site. This former gravel pit is today a privileged natural space for the reproduction of water birds and a peaceful stopover for migratory birds that can be admired from the banks. The municipality is part of the Oise-Pays-de-France Regional Nature Park. to preserve its natural and cultural heritage.
This pond was named "Sainte-Barbe" because she is the Patron Saint, among others, of the quarrymen who have been the main economic activity of the village since antiquity. The history of stone quarrying and the quarrymen can be discovered by visiting the Maison de la Pierre du Sud de l'Oise located in the main street of the village. From the pond, you can also reach the Pont de Saint-Leu to continue your walk along the banks of the Oise and reach the Base de Loisirs and the Base Nautique. The pond is on the route of the GR11 and the hiking circuit called "Sur les Pas des Bâtisseurs".
